Tsiklitiria is an annual athletics event that takes place in Pylos and its name honours Kostas Tsiklitiras, who won four olympic medals at the 1908 and 1912 Olympic Games in long jump and high jump, both from standing position.
The "Navarinia" were traditionally the celebratory events of the Municipality of Pylos on the anniversary of the Naval Battle of Navarino.
Since 2017, and the 190th anniversary, the highlight of the celebrations is the Reenactment of the Battle of Navarino, with the participation of real sailing ships, the participation of dozens of volunteers, and the blowing up of a replica of the flagship of the Turkish-Egyptian fleet.
